Pensinasia - Fine Writing Instruments
Pensinasia is a collection of more than a decade of pens, fine writing instruments, and limited edition collectables. Over the past years, I have painstakingly detailed and photographed each pen I have owned, recording down every minute detail within this website. If you are a pen lover like me, you will find Pensinasia to be your definite source of knowledge to fountain pens.

Pelikan Limited Edition M1000 Raden Sunlight Fountain Pen

This impressive fountain pen is inspired in the brilliance of sunlight. It is finished in black lacquer and high quality abalone coming straight from the Japanese Sea. The abalone shell gives the pen its bright multicolor glimmer, which is the essence of this pen.  The pen is made on the classic M1000, a large and noble pen.
The abalone shell is placed on the ground and flattened with a hard stone into very thin sheets. These sheets are cut into narrow strips and then affixed to the coating of lacquer around the cap and barrel of the pen. The fountain pen is once again lacquered, and then the surface is polished. With the Maki-e technique the artist individually signs and numbers each fountain pen.
The clip has the form of a pelican beak, and Pelikan’s logo is visible on the top of the cap. It contains a high functioning piston filler. The clip and trims are gold plated and the 18k gold nib comes with rhodium treatment to make it two-colored.

The Pelikan M1000 Sunlight Raden pen is limited to 300 pieces
