Wabi Sabi is a Japanese concept that objects gain in value and beauty through use and wear. Japanese artists take this concept to the next level by intentionally aging and distressing materials to give the impression of use and wear - such is the case with the pens in this new Wabi Sabi series.
Sailor is pleased to announce the first Limited Edition Fountain Pen models in the ‘Wabi Sabi’ series. The Urushi artist, Wayo Shimamori has developed the ‘Irogasane Sabinuri’ technique to create the 88 pieces of each color worldwide.
This contemporary work urushi lacquer is executed over famous King of Pen ebonite body and this is a highly practical and versatile writing instrument fitted with the 21k solid gold nib.
