Sailor Limited Edition King of Pens (KOP) Supreme Samurai Battle of Ujigawa Fountain Pen
Sailor Limited Edition King of Pens (KOP) Supreme Samurai Battle of Ujigawa Fountain Pen
Fought in January 1184 in the defense of ancient Kyoto, this famous influential battle took place on the Uji river.
Samurai warriors on horseback from both sides confronted each other through and over the very ‘swollen’ Uji river.
The victorious Samurai army of MInamoto no Yoshitsune regained control of the capital for the ruling Heike family, defeating the unpopular Kiso Yoshinaka.
This new King of Pen “Battle of Ujigawa” by Sailor memorializes this history, with intricate Maki-e details placed by famous urushi artist Ikki Morioke, and an award-winning writing experience. The artist depicts water crashing against rearing horses supporting Samurai riders as they fight for their lives.
