Sailor Limited Edition Endangered Species Mammals Maki-e African Elephant Fountain Pen

This is the second collection of 'Endangered Species' called 'Endangered Mammals'
There will be only three models in this and future 'Endangered' series and they will be in a Limited edition of only 88 pieces.

The African Elephant is the largest living terrestrial animal and the male can weigh up to 6000Kg and reach up to 4 m in height. Both the Male and female have large tusks used for digging, stripping trees for food, and for fighting each other during the mating season and defending themselves from predators.
They have very large ears allowing them to radiate excess heat and cool down. African Elephants are highly intelligent and they exhibit a wide variety of human like behaviours, including Grief, learning, mimicry, play, humour, compassion and memory. 
Unfortunately the species remains seriously threatened by illegal hunting and poaching for Ivory and meat.  Additionally habitat loss and increasing human-elephant conflict is adding to the conservation challenges of this species.

Each of the collection is made in only 88 pieces worldwide. Hand decorated by master maki-e artist Koshyu Nishihara .
