The trim and writing sections are made entirely of sterling silver. The Symphony is fitted with Montegrappa's signature clip characterized by its curvilinear shape and rolling ball.The fountain is threaded on both sides of the pen's barrel to prevent accidental damage to the pen's finish and allowing the cap the be attached to the barrel while writing. The 18 karat flexible gold nib, plated with platinum and tipped with irridium, is smooth and responsive. Featuring an ebonite feed system, assuring smooth and consistent flow, the pen accepts standard cartridges or use the included convertor for bottled ink.
