Montegrappa Limited Edition Millennio Di Bassno Fountain Pen

It has long been since a pen was manufactured invoking such emotions on one as the Millennio di Bassano. Bassano del Grappa is where Montegrappa, the oldest pen manufacturer in Italy is located. Inevitably Montegrappa was approached by the committee to produce an official pen commemorating the 1000 anniversary of the founding of this city.   Adorning the cap of the " Millennia di Bassano " pen. One finds the city crest of 2 lions climbing the tower amidst the grapes and vines denoting Bassano where Grappa, a strong alcoholic spirit is made. The winged lion is the old symbol of the Republic of Venezia that can often be found in this region.                                 
                                                                    
The barrel encapsulates the famous wooden bridge stretching over the Brenta river. On the wooden bridge on both ends there is a small tavern serving wines and spirits and is a meeting point for the locals for a drink or a chat. The surrounding of Bassano where bountiful of mountains and vineyards are found inspired the further elaboration of grapes and vines. The crown found on the opposite side of the winged lion is a duplicate taken from the old crest of  the city.                                                                        

At the top of the signature rolling ball dip is a miniature finely embossed crest of the city of Bassano. Produced in low relief engraving consisting of 256 cuts around the precious metal tube creating a deeper outcome, the Millennio di Bassano pen captures the essence of Bassano within and is finished in a special resin resembling the stones of the Brenta river.The fountain version of the pen is piston fed with an ebonite feeder and an 18k gold platinum plated nib.
