The White Tiger is a rare form of the lineage of Bengal Tigers with spectacular white fur, lined with black and brown stripes, a pale pink nose and bright blue eyes. It is believed that this rare color mutation is caused by a recessive gene and occurs in the wild in only 1 out of 10.000 Bengal Tigers.
This beautiful tiger is the subject of much mystery and investigation. It is an integral part of ancient and contemporary culture. Revered in China as the God of the West and in India as the guardian of the forest, invoker of rain and thunder and the vehicle of the Mother Goddess; this magnificent cat continues to enthrall us as it features in popular literature, theater and art.
