Intrigue Fountain Pen has a high-tech mechansiam that combines the 14K Inlaid nib with modern styling and exotic finishes. It has an unusual filling system that can use cartridges or can work as an integrated piston filler. The Intrigue was an effort to bring some new design and genuine technical innovation to the Sheaffer line. It has an unique converter that could be inserted into the "drawer" that slides out from the inside of the pen. When the "drawer" is closed, the converter is automatically engaged to the filler knob to work like a piston filled mechanism. Thus this Sheaffer's first all-new filler mechanism could be operated like a piston mechanism or as a cartridge pen.

The legendary Sheaffer inlaid nib has been redesigned for improved ink flow and smoother writing action. The 14K gold nib is flexible and easily adapts to any writing style. The mess-free filling from an ink bottle includes patent-pending features.

Released in 2000. This model has been discontinued. Made is USA model. For your information, the factory in USA has been closed. Thus these were one of the last few models from the USA factory. The "USA" hallmark can be seen on barrel. It certainly makes it even more collectible and sought after in the years to come. This is an new old stock. Brand new, not dipped and not used.
