Sheaffer Balance 873 Classic Black Roller Ball Pen

This particular offering is a Sheaffer Balance Black. Black acrylic cap and barrel with 22K gold electroplated trim.  This roller pen was an old new stock. Made in USA around 1997 to 1999.

In 1930 Sheaffer took advantage of the characteristics of their new plastic pens to introduce very streamlined models. These are the Balance pens. The design proved to be very popular and the public rushed to but these new pens. The other pen companies rushed to compete with less blocky designs. The design however ended in 1945. Tracing its ancestry back to Sheaffer's ground-breaking torpedo-shaped design in the late 20s, the modern Sheaffer Balance II is a faithful reproduction of everything that makes the vintage models.

This model has been discontinued. Made is USA model. For your information, the factory in USA has been closed. Thus these were one of the last few models from the USA factory. It certainly makes it even more collectible and sought after in the years to come. This is a new old stock. Brand new and not used. Complete with box and papers.
