S.T.Dupont celebrates its 140th anniversary (1872 – 2012) with the Second Empire Limited Edition. This new limited edition is an invitation to travel in the years 1872, at the time of Napoleon III and impress Eugenie.
The Second Empire Style, also known as Napoleon lll style, inspired the great French furniture houses. Their intention was to design each piece of furniture as an architectural work.
With this Second Empire limited edition, S.T. Dupont pays tribute to Second Empire Style, drawing inspiration from the splendor and sophistication of the furniture of that period.
The clip of the pen is inspired by Second Empire style furniture, highlighting splendour and sophistication. The clip is hand-sculpted from bronze and hand-set with 8 rubies. The pen top is adorned with D&D as a tribute to Lucien and Andre Tissot Dupont, who created the brand in 1872. Engraved medallions are featured on the barrel bottom of the fountain pen, and the opulent 18k gold nib. The product is finely engraved, evoking the delicate floral marquetry patterns so characteristic of the Second Empire.
