Pensinasia - Fine Writing Instruments
Pensinasia is a collection of more than a decade of pens, fine writing instruments, and limited edition collectables. Over the past years, I have painstakingly detailed and photographed each pen I have owned, recording down every minute detail within this website. If you are a pen lover like me, you will find Pensinasia to be your definite source of knowledge to fountain pens.

Namiki Limited Edition Maki-e Kabuto Fountain Pen

Namiki's Limited Edition Kabuto fountain pen, designed and decorated by skilled artisan Michifumi Kawaguchi, using a combination of Taka Maki-e (raised Maki-e) for the Kabuto, Hira Maki-e (flat Maki-e) for the Tachi, and Togidashi-Taka Maki-e (burnished raised Maki-e) and gold powder for the background. The dome of the Kabuto has sparkling Raden inlay. The Kabuto and Tachi are honoured during the Boys’ Festival in Japan on May 5 every year, which celebrates the transition of Japanese boys to adulthood.
Namiki Kabuto Limited Edition is a symbol of authority and decoration in feudal Japan during the Edo period in the 17th century. Only 170 limited edition pieces in Yukari size are made with an 18-karat gold nib with rhodium accents
