Namiki Limited Edition Emperor Maki-e Shoki Fountain Pen

 

Shoki is the Japanese pronunciation of Zhong Kui. A legendary Chinese mythological figure that is reputed to possess talismanic powers. Shōki’s popularity peaked in Japan during the Edo period, when people began to hang images of him outside their houses to ward off evil spirits during the festival for all children Day on May 5 each year.  

The Namiki Limited Edition Emperor Maki-e Shoki Fountain Pen was produced in 2019 with only 99 pieces worldwide. A Fountain pen features a flat top clipless design and has been decorated with maki-e by the skilled artisan Yutaka Sato in Japan in Taka, Togidashi, and Shishiai Maki-e techniques. It comes with an massive #50 size 18K gold nib with large capacity barrel filling by eyedropper.
