Nakaya Kago-amime (Basket Mesh) Araishu Fountain Pen

Nakaya's Kago-amime (Basket Mesh) Araishu fountain pen with its basket mesh pattern delicately woven on top of ebonite barrel,
 replicates the 1924 Platinum 'Tou-amime pen. Nakaya Kago -amime pen uses black shaved bamboo instead of rattan to make the mesh weave on  ebonite barrel which is painted with a burnt orange Araishu Urushi lacquer. This pattern is commonly known as a hexagonal weave, triaxial weave  and basket weave with bamboo strips crossing in horizontal,vertical and diagonal directions.
