Between the 9th and the 15th century the strongest Italian cities in the Mediterranean region, Amalfi, Pisa, Genova and Venice, were referred to as the four Italian Maritime Republics. These city-states grew wealthy through commerce, and established trade markets of enduring importance.

To celebrate Italian Medieval History and the important role that these Republics had in the formation of the italian state. The Antiche Repubbliche Marinare writing instruments are individually made from a solid bar of Mediterranean Blue special resin.   The fountain pen is new and has never been used, dipped nor inked.
