Sailor Limited Edition King of Pens (KOP) Ukiyo-e Horibe Yahei Kanemaru Maki-e Fountain Pen
Sailor Limited Edition King of Pens (KOP) Ukiyo-e Horibe Yahei Kanemaru Maki-e Fountain Pen
A remarkable fusion of Japanese history, traditional artistry, and exceptional craftsmanship, the Sailor King of Pens Maki-e Ukiyo-e "Horibe Yahei Kanemaru" pays tribute to one of Japan's most celebrated historical figures.
Its design is inspired by the iconic ukiyo-e masterpiece of Utagawa Kuniyoshi, one of the Edo period's most influential woodblock print artists. The artwork portrays Horibe Yahei Kanemaru, one of the legendary Forty-Seven Ronin whose unwavering loyalty and courage have become timeless symbols of the samurai spirit. At the remarkable age of seventy-seven, Kanemaru was the eldest of the loyal retainers who took part in the historic revenge of the Chushingura saga, forever cementing his place in Japanese history.
Every pen is a testament to Sailor's dedication to preserving Japan's finest artistic traditions. The barrel and cap are meticulously handcrafted using the revered Maki-e technique, where layers of lacquer and delicate artwork are applied entirely by hand by skilled artisans. Crafted from premium ebonite, the pen offers a warm, comfortable feel while providing the durability and character prized by discerning collectors.
At its heart lies Sailor's legendary King of Pens 21K bi-color gold nib, handcrafted at Sailor's renowned factory in Kure, Hiroshima. Revered for its smoothness, generous ink flow, and expressive writing performance, it delivers an unparalleled writing experience worthy of its artistic exterior.
Presented in an elegant Paulownia wood presentation box, the Sailor King of Pens Maki-e Ukiyo-e "Horibe Yahei Kanemaru" is more than a writing instrument, it is a celebration of Japanese heritage, master craftsmanship, and the enduring spirit of loyalty and honour.
