Sailor Koshu Inden Red Sakura Blossom Fountain Pen

Sailor's new Koshu Inden pens feature the work of Makoto Yamamoto, a much-celebrated practitioner of this craft with over forty years experience as an artist and teacher. It is a much-honored Japanese leather craft in which traditional patterns are painted in Urushi lacquer on natural deer skin, giving the surface of these writing instruments a unique tactile quality. Each pen is hand-crafted  using this centuries old artisanal techniques.
Makoto Yamamoto's design places small cherry blossoms atop the leather. Once used to decorate warriors' helmets and armor, cherry blossom patterns are often seen today on kimonos.
Thin seams on the cap and barrel testify to the natural material being used for the surface.
The Koshu Inden Petite Cherry Blossoms is a mid-size pen that will make an excellent everyday writer. It is produced in very small numbers with 14K gold nib using cartridge or converter filling, and are expected to be in high demand.
