Namiki Yukari Size Maki-e Swallows with Cherry Blossom Roller Ball Pen

 

The chaos of birds in flight is captured in the Swallow motif. Not only are the birds in flight, they are accompanied by flowers and flying pedals that add to the excitement of this composition. Pigment and gold flake imbedded in the urushi lacquer add vibrancy on this dark surface.
