Nakaya Piccolo Long Writer Two Layered TameSukashi Bamboo Woods Fountain Pen with two-layered clip

Beautiful Two-Layer Tame-sukashi Bamboo Art on the body, paired with the same Tame-sukai on the clip. This combination brings the pen to life. Showing the different layers of the bamboo giving it the illusion of an actually bamboo forest. Over time, you will see the Bamboo forest becomes more and more visible as the lacquer becomes more and more transparent. This is the beauty of the technique as it ages gracefully with the users.

A cap is screw-type. This model has no trim and no distinction between cap and barrel. This model is long and is supposed to be used without posting the cap when writing. As ebonite is a very light material it is possible to make the barrel thicker and longer. Therefore the balance point can be set easier to provide comfortable writing for everyone. "Tame" means "pool" and "nuri" refers to the lacquer coating process. You can actually see through the layers of clear urushi lacquer as if you were looking into a pool. When the process is finished, you can still see the base surface of red urushi. After this coating process, craftsmen polish the surface over and over by hand for months in order to attain greater transparency, allowing you to clearly see the underlying red usurshi surface.
