Nakaya Piccolo Long Writer Ishime Kanshitsu in Silver Finish Fountain Pen

A cap is screw-type. This model has no trim and no distinction between cap and barrel. This model is piccolo and is supposed to be used without posting the cap when writing. As ebonite is a very light and durable material. Therefore the balance point can be set easier to provide comfortable writing for everyone.

A craftsman sprinkles Urushi powders onto the body, which makes a lot of grains on the surface due to surface tensity. After settled, he varnishes the body with lacquer several times to make the body harden. He sharpens these grains with charcoal and finished with wipe lacquer. It is truly artistic craftsmanship to decorate stone-like appearance on a pen true to its name ('Ishi" means a stone in Japanese). The last 2 pages of the following pictures introduce Tame-nuri by Ishime-Kanshitsu technique.
