Nakaya Piccolo Long Karasu Kite and Crow from Yosa Buson Fountain Pen

Nakaya Piccolo Long Portable Karasu Kite and Crow fountain pen pays homage to Yosa Buson's masterpiece "Kite and Crow" from the Edo period in Japan. Nakaya utilizes Yakou Maki-e technique  to create its snow-covered branches and striking black crows. The Karasu Kite and Crow Fountain Pen is made of hand-turned ebonite hard rubber. Using Yakou Maki-e technique, black lacquer is painted over the Aka-tamenuri base to create the crows and silver powder to emulate snow-covered branches. The finished product was then sent to the Wajima region for Maki-e work and finishing with Urushi lacquer.
When you hold the writing instrument you can feel the raised texture of the black lacquer and silver powder, as if nature is truly coming to life.
