Nakaya Decapod Twist Cigar Tsukegaki-Sukashi Heki-Tamenuri Ascending Dragon Fountain Pen

Nakaya made a twist axis based on the decapod model. It is a very difficult process to make only decapod axis, Nakaya twisted the barrel as well.
Further more,it is almost impossible job to polish up each plane to make smoothness after doing Tame-nuri finish by twisting hands.
Making a barrel, twisted polishing process are very difficult work, so that a concentration of all difficult techniques took over one year and at last it became possible to show to everybody. "Tame" means "pool" and "nuri" refers to the lacquer coating process.
You can actually see through the layers of clear urushi lacquer as if you were looking into a pool. "Heki" is the color between blue and green.It is one of the Japanese traditional colors.

About one of the most popular item "The dragon" by Tame-Sukashi technique, based on the Chinese Dragon. A coiling dragon with long barrel matches well and a shape of trumpet, flat shape of stand are different feeling for each Maki-e. Some clouds are described on a flat surface and trumpet. and N'Hochu' (a ball) is described on a grip.
