Nakaya Cigar Portable Yakoh Maki-e A Enjoying The Moon Cat Fountain Pen

 

This whimsical and evocative design is based on a sketch by a Nakaya customer who loved cats.
The moon employs Tame-Sukashi technique, one that increases brightness in time. Paw prints on the grip section and the cat are made using the Yakoh-Makie,  raised, technique.
This elegant design is transformative. We have preserved the Japanese syntax of the title because it so clearly captures the essence of this pen.
When we saw the values characterized by this pen, we realized that it represented more than a cat, a mouse, and the moon.
The Nakaya nib, imprinted Nakata,  is made of solid 14K gold.
