Montegrappa Limited Edition Amedeo Modigliani Pink Gold Fountain Pen
This Limited Edition Amedeo Modigliani Fountain Pen has been created by Montegrappa as part of their Genio Creativity collection designed to celebrate those who change our perceptions of the world through a new idea or piece of art.
Amedeo Clemente Modigliani was born into a Jewish family at Livorno, in Tuscany in the late 19th century. Modigliani was the fourth child of Flaminio Modigliani and his wife, Eugenia Garsin.
Modigliani spent his youth in Italy and studied the art of antiquity and the Renaissance until he moved to Paris in 1906. There he came into contact with prominent artists such as Pablo Picasso and Constantin BrâncuČ™i.
From 1909 to 1914, he devoted himself mainly to sculpture. His main subject was portraits and full figures of humans. During his life, Amedeo Modigliani had little success, but after his death he achieved greater popularity and his works of art achieved high prices. He died at age 35 in Paris of tubercular meningitis.
This beautiful blue and pink gold fountain pen and the neat line of the pen pays homage to Modigliani of his search for plasticity. The shaft and the cap are oval-shaped like the faces of his portraits and the clip is long and uneven like his noses. The cap ring has the characteristic irregular shape of the lips. The cap of the pen with the Montegrappa logo and the solitary diamond is a symbol of the uniqueness of the genius.
