The body of the pen
besides precious metals is made of "Mandarin Yellow" (Emperor
Yellow) resin which is a symbolic color of the imperial family and royal
house. On the top of the cap, a "2000" engraving signifies the
arrival of the Millennium 2000, the coming of the 21st century ushered in by
the Golden Dragon.

It is very difficult to
find this in USA because this was specially made for Asia only. The limited
quantity of 12 pieces for the solid gold and 366 pieces for the sterling
silver have made these pens hard to get. In fact this pen has been sold out
already. Nothing from the factory anymore. There are basically a few reasons
why this pen was a sellout,
1) there are easily more
than 366 Montegrappa collectors in Asia and in the world
2) Asian always loves
dragon pens for it means power and status. Look at all the dragon pens…from
Montegrappa, Pelikan to Montblanc…they are always loved by the collectors.
3) The dragon’s claw
clip is outstanding and it is extremely wonderful and prominent when you
clip it in the pocket.
4) The Emperor’s
yellow colour is the first from Montegrappa.
The pens come with
papers and impressive Chinese style lacquered box.
