The limited-edition pen from Visconti, takes its inspiration from the
inlaid decorations of the Taj Mahal.
Built on the banks of the Jumna river in Agra, northern India, the Taj
Mahal has enchanted visitors for over three hundred years. This jewel of
Mogul.
The Taj Mahal was built in the 17th century on the orders of the emperor
Shah Jahan in memory of his wife who died in childbirth. The love the
emperor held for his wife permeates the white marble and decoration of the
entire building.
Visconti has drawn inspiration from the Taj Mahal for another of its very
special limited edition dedicated to masterpieces of world architecture.
The Taj Mahal fountain pen, is made of vegetal resin. Its highly
distinctive, handcrafted decorations, executed using Indian filigree
techniques, are inspired by the inlay work inside the mausoleum.
The pen has fittings which support the fine decorative work and hold it in
place. The end of the barrel and cap are adorned with a stylized profile
of the Taj Mahal's central dome-the famous marble globe that seems to rise
skyward. Mark Twain described the monument as an embodiment of all that is
perfect and pure.
The Taj Mahal Limited Edition is available in three versions. Its
18-carat, two-tone nib is hand engraved. The pen is fitted with the famous
High Vacuum Power Filler. It comes in a poplar-wood case with delicately
carved designs on the lid. New and never been used, inked or dipped.
