Between
the 9th and the 15th century the strongest Italian cities in the
Mediterranean region, Amalfi, Pisa, Genova and Venice, were referred to as
the four Italian Maritime Republics. These city-states grew wealthy through
commerce, and established trade markets of enduring importance.
To celebrate Italian Medieval History and the important role that these
Republics had in the formation of the italian state. The Antiche Repubbliche
Marinare writing instruments are individually made from a solid bar of
Mediterranean Blue special resin.

cap has a central ring in sterling silver engraved with the gonfalons of the
four
Maritime
Republics
in enamel. In addition the body is covered with a sleeve in sterling silver
engraved with the four monuments symbol of the four cities: the Cathedral of
Amalfi, the Lighthouse of Genova, the leaning
tower
of
Pisa
,
and the
Rialto
bridge
of
Venice
.
