This
writing instrument is the Grand Trio Maki-E F6 has been painted with heart
using various traditional techniques. The Maki-E artists in Japan use only
the finest genuine Urushi (100% natural lacquer) on ebonite barrels.
Taka
(Falcon), one of "The Legendary Animal Series" is well known for
falconry in Japanese history as the birds were beloved by all Daimyos for
hunting. Standing on a bold tree with its sharp eyes made of Tamamushigai-shell
Raden, (a two-striped green buprestid) the falcon and the tree are all TAKA
Maki-e with pure gold and platinum, and ground is Hirame-Kinji in gold.
Maki-E
is an ancient 1000 year old Japanese art form. It is very valuable and
should be handled with care at all times. The entire process of Maki-E
requires two to six months or more to complete, and even minimal repairs
will require two months or more.
