Pelikan’s first fountain pens appeared in 1929, quickly establishing technical leadership with their patented piston filling system. These pens were either black or green. In January, 1931, the "Pelikan Gold" was introduced. Enhancing its craftsmanship and technology, Pelikan pens were transformed into pieces of fine jewelry. Gladly, Pelikan celebrates the golden years by reissuing the "1931." Faithful in detail, with the exception of certain modern materials, it is an exact replica of its famous predecessor. Clip and trim are layered in 18K gold. Production is limited to 5,000 worldwide, making this a collector’s item.
